Giuliani and Civil Unions

Mayor Giuliani came out in opposition to the civil union law just passed by the New Hampshire state Senate.

“Mayor Giuliani believes marriage is between one man and one woman. Domestic partnerships are the appropriate way to ensure that people are treated fairly. In this specific case the law states same sex civil unions are the equivalent of marriage and recognizes same sex unions from outside states. This goes too far and Mayor Giuliani does not support it.”  by Dave G  4-26-2007

McCain Would Appoint Democrat to His Cabinet

“There are very highly qualified Democrats on a number of issues,” McCain said. “The more efforts you can make towards bipartisanship, I think in Washington today, the better off you are. But it also better be, one, an important post and, two, a person who has the ear of the president.”  by Heavy M   4-28-2007

Tommy Thompson Can Win Without Ohio

Tommy Thompson says Republicans will lose Ohio in 2008 – where the state party’s corruption and incompetence resulted in the loss of the governorship, a U.S. Senate seat and a House seat.  So the GOP candidate must carry Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota and Tommy Thompson says he can carry those three Midwestern states.  AID=/20070423/OPINION/704230314/-1/ZONES04  by George Will  4-23-2007

Giuliani “America Will Be Safer With a Republican President.”

“If any Republican is elected president —- and I think obviously I would be the best at this —- we will remain on offense and will anticipate what [the terrorists] will do and try to stop them before they do it.”

“But the question is how long will it take and how many casualties will we have?” Giuliani said. “If we are on defense [with a Democratic president], we will have more losses and it will go on longer…I listen a little to the Democrats and if one of them gets elected, we are going on defense,” Giuliani continued. “We will wave the white flag on Iraq. We will cut back on the Patriot Act, electronic surveillance, interrogation and we will be back to our pre-Sept. 11 attitude of defense.”

“The Democrats do not understand the full nature and scope of the terrorist war against us.”   by 08 Guru AsC   4-25-2007
